CoEJ appoints NGO coordinator

As part of the regional federation’s commitment to The World Federation of KSIMC’s NGO work agenda, The Council of European Jamaats (CoEJ) has appointed Brother Murtaza Gulamhusein as the NGO coordinator representing the region. The main objective is to ensure the NGO agenda is delivered appropriately and effectively for the betterment of the community and society globally.

Brother Murtaza Gulamhusein has been qualified Chartered Account in London since 1991. He currently resides in the UK where he runs a successful Accountancy Practice. Br Murtaza has served the community in various capacities, where his voluntary services include Hon Treasurer of Mombasa Jamaat and Hon. Secretary of the Shia students Union of Mombasa. Since 2007, Brother Murtaza has been serving as the Vice President of KSIMC of London (Stanmore) and is also a Councillor for the Council of European Jamaats.

Brother Murtaza Gulamhusein said, “I would like to thank The Council of European Jamaats and The World Federation of KSIMC for giving me this opportunity to serve the community. Inshallah we will collectively strive to serve our community as well as humanity at large to the best of our ability"

Imran Janmohamed, The World Federation NGO Development Manager, said:  “I would like to congratulate Murtaza bhai on his role as the coordinator representing the Council of European Jamaats. Inshallah we will be able to use our collective expertise to maximise the potential of the NGO status with the United Nation’s Economic and Social Council for the betterment of the community and society.”
